Settings

Totsum has few settings, and they are spread over the Edit, View and Help menus rather than gathered in one preferences window. This page lists them all.

Edit ▸ Number Format Settings… sets how numbers are displayed everywhere in the app: the decimal separator, the thousands separator and the number of decimal places, with a live preview. Reset to OS defaults takes the values from your operating system’s region settings.

One result can override this: the Number Format group in the chart configuration, described on the Results page, applies to that result only.

Edit ▸ Report Branding… sets the letterhead every report prints with. The dialog asks for a logo, with a box for “My logo already includes our name”, the organization, the “Prepared for” and “Prepared by” names, a reference, a page header, a footer note, a cover notice meant for a confidentiality or distribution clause in full, and a brand color. It also asks whether to start the report with a cover page.

The same dialog opens from the Branding… button on an open report, with a box “Give this report its own letterhead”; unticked, the report follows the application setting.

Every page of a report also carries the notice that parts of it were generated by an AI, whatever the branding. Report branding is part of the Commercial license.

View ▸ Zoom… opens a slider with a live preview of sample text; Zoom In, Zoom Out and Reset Zoom step through the same scale, from 80% to 200%. The change takes effect after you restart the app, because sizes are set when the window is built.

The left and right panes collapse and expand with the chevrons on the dividers, and Totsum remembers the sizes you set. There is no setting for this beyond the chevrons themselves.

Help ▸ License… shows the current edition and, on the free trial, how many questions remain. The same dialog is where you paste a license key; it starts with TOTSUM1.. Registration is checked on your machine, and open charts refresh at once. The licensing page covers editions, moving to another machine and a lost key.

The AI model is provisioned with the app. There is no setting to choose or download another one; the AI model page says which model it is and how it is installed.
